At Paws-a-tive Dog Training we offer a variety of obedience classes, certifications, and specialty training. Find out more and see what could be right for you…

Our training area includes all of 85254 and surrounding areas with boundaries of:

North - Loop 101
South - Gainey Ranch
East - Loop 101
West - 51

TRAINING BOUNDARIES

In-home obedience training

Private Obedience Training (In-Home)

  • To maximize the effectiveness of training - all classes must be used within 65 days of purchase

    Obedience 1

    • For dogs 4 months and older

    • Foundation work includes training, basic cues of Come/Sit/Down/Stay, good manners, crate training, Watch Me, Touch, and introduction to loose leash

    Obedience 2

    • We continue with the foundation work of obedience 1 and teach positions (heel, side, front, back), reactions to distractions, and more focused attention on leash work

    Obedience 3

    • We continue with the foundation work of obedience 2 and elevate the 3 D’s (Distance, Duration, Distraction)

    • Loose leash walking gives way to a true heel position

  • $35 per 50-minute private class

‘Out and About’ Obedience (Group Class)

  • For dogs four months and older, when obedience is your primary goal.

    Focusing on:

    • Foundational behaviors of: sit/down/stay/come/loose leash walking/leave it

    • Practicing and polish manners

    • Socializing with other dogs and people

  • $25 per 50-minute group class

    Locations vary from week to week

Dog Adventures (Group Class)

  • For four months and older, when having fun and socializing with your dog is your primary goal.

    New adventures each week where we explore & socialize at parks, Home Depot, Kierland, Arizona Boardwalk etc.

    • Socialize and have fun while still working on basic foundational behaviors and manners

  • $25 per 50-minute group class

    Locations vary from week to week

Service Dog Training

  • Paws-a-Tive Dog Training offers the following Service Dog Training:

    • Medical Alert

    • Mobility-Assist

    • PTSD/Psychiatric

    Please note, in order to begin service dog training, you and your dog must:

    • Test out of obedience levels 1, 2, 3

    • Pass AKC Canine Good Citizen

    • Pass CGCA and/or CGCU

Rally & Fit Dog Level 1 -3 Combo(Group Class)

  • Improve your dog's attention, confidence, foundational behaviors, flexibility, and strength with this fun combination of Rally and Fit Dog.

    For Rally Titles: Successful completion of at least six classes will qualify you to utilize one of our quarterly recording sessions - we will set up three courses for you to video for title submission to AKC

    For Fit Dog Titles: The Fit Dog Test will take place at the end of your six classes. Fit Dog levels are sequential.

    DISCLAIMER: Your dog must be 4 months to begin-6 months to title. Dogs under 18 months will be limited to non-repetitive exercises (coursework will NOT be designed to be repetitive!)

Timid -or- Overexcited Dog Workshops

  • Timid Workshops:

    • For dogs needing to gain confidence, build resilience, and increase their socialization.

    Overexcited Workshops

    • For dogs that get overly excited and can’t calm themselves down.

    All workshop includes an initial behavior assessment on your first appointment.

  • $35 per 50-minute group class

    $55 per 50-minute private class

    Classes are located at an indoor training facility at 32nd Street and Shea
